Wimbledon 2009 Down To Finals on July 5

Andy Murray's fans are disappointed knowing he can do longer play at the 2009 Wimbledon Finals on Sunday after Roger Federer defeated him during the semifinals. Of course, Rafael Nadal is not expected to win since he withdrew due to knee injury. Thus, for the Men's Singles Finals, it's Roger Federer vs Andy Roddick.

As for the Women's Singles Finals, the two Williams sisters Venus and Serena, will be facing each other for the title. If Venus WIlliams wins, this would be her third title for winning three times in a row (2007, 2008, and 2009).

Roger Federer of Switzerland, former ATP number one, has established the following records on current Wimbledon edition:
- On 1 July 2009, by defeating Croatian Ivo Karlović in the Wimbledon 2009 quarterfinals, Federer reached his 21st consecutive semi-final in Grand Slam tournament, having started the streak at Wimbledon in 2004.
- On 3 July 2009, by defeating 24th-Seeded Tommy Haas in the semi-final, Federer reached his 7th consecutive final at the Wimbledon Championships, setting a record for the Open Era.
