Joey de Leon's statement on "Eat Bulaga! LA show was a flop" In an interview conducted by Butch Francisco and Lolit Solis on GMA 7’s showbiz oriented talk show “Startalk” on Saturday afternoon, Joey de Leon, gave us his reaction and disappointment regarding the column written by Dindo Balares of Balita newspaper.
Balares wrote an article titled “Bakit nag-flop sa U.S. ang Eat Bulaga?” published in Balita on July 29 wherein he stated some possibilities why the venue in L.A. Sports Arena was not filled with audience. Balares also mentioned that he had it confirmed from a GMA-7 executive,
Because of this incident, Joey de Leon decided to resign as a columnist of Manila Bulletin, which is a sister publication of Balita. He also mentioned that id Balares will continue entering GMA's press conferences, Joey will resign.
