GMA-7's newest daytime TV series titled Gaano Kadalas ang Minsan starring Marvin Agustin, Camille Prats, and Diana Zubiri premiered Monday afternoon with an average TV rating of 19.8 percent. Not bad for Camille as this is her comeback TV project after giving birth recently.

Ako si Kim Samsoon is the Pinoy version of the romantic-comedy Korean TV series “My Name is Kim Sam Soon.” The lead roles will be played by our very own songbird Regine Velasquez and Mark Anthony Fernandez. It will be aired this June on GMA-7 network in celebration of their 58th anniversary.

Ako si Kim Samsoon is the second koreanovela to have a remake in the Philippines after My Girl. With that, we can't deny that Kapamilya and Kapuso fanatics are comparing the two series. Some said, the latter is better while some claimed the other way around.

In my opinion, they are both unique so there is no point of comparing. Based on the teaser I watched in Youtube, Regine did a good job with her role. She was so funny and acted naturally. I liked Regine as a singer and actress, in fact ;0

Codename: Asero is an upcoming action-drama packed with crime, romance and thriller TV series on GMA-7 Network soon to air by the end of June 2008 or earlier July. The lead roles were played by Richard Gutierrez as Asero and Heart Evangelista as Lucy. Some parts of the series were filmed in Dubai.

I've watched the teaser in GMA-7 and it seems that it is a Pinoy version of Wolverine in Xmen, not totally though. Codename: Asero is the first TV series teamed by Richard and Heart. The question is, will they love-team work? Hmmmn... maybe ;0 This is also the first project of Heart after her network transfer from ABS-CBN to GMA-7.

Other casts include Janno Gibbs, Michael V., Richard Gomez, Ehra Madrigal, Rhian Ramos, Maxene Magalona, Paolo Contis, Bubbles Paraiso, Elvis Gutierrez, Rocky Gutierrez, Caridad Sanchez, Ramon Christopher.

Gagambino is an upcoming fantaserye based on the graphic creation of Carlo J. Caparas to be aired in GMA-7 soon on September 2008. Gagambino is the Philippine version of the Hollywood movie Spiderman. Talaga lng ha... kaya naman kaya yong animation? Just a thought from my sassy mind ;0

GMA keeps the identity of who will play the lead role. But according to some sources, Dennis Trilio will play Gagambino. It was also stated in Wikipedia. My opinion? "Ok lang. But I am just hoping a new lead role will be chosen. Parang nakakasawa na rin kasi si Dennis ;(

Witch Yoo Hee also known as “Witch Amusement” is a South Korean TV drama series to be broadcasted in GMA-7 later this afternoon May 19, 2008 right after Coffee Prince. The cast include Han Ga In as Ma Yoo Hee, Jae Hee as Chae Moo Ryong, Kim Jeong Hoon as Yoo Joon Ha, Dennis Oh as Johnny Kruger, and Jeon Hye Bin as Nam Seung Mi.

Witch Yoo Hee Summary/ Plot:
Mu-Ryong discusses everything with his best friend and ends up going on a blind date to pretend to be someone else who backed out at the last minute. He declines at first since he already has a girlfriend, but his friend offers him money, and warns him however that the woman he will be meeting is rather different.

The woman he meets is Yoo Hee, and while under normal circumstances she would be rude, brash and boring, she tries to be nice and happy in an attempt to succeed on the date. However, her pretending is not very convincing and Mu-Ryong figures that it would be a matter of time before she loses it. The date ends when Mu-Ryong falls asleep for a moment, resulting in Yoo Hee throwing a glass of water at his face and calling him rude. He retorts back to her also, telling her to take care of her appearance the next time she goes on a blind date. The two then leave on bad terms.

While delivering food from his father's Chinese restaurant, Mu-Ryong becomes involved in a car accident, coincidentally with Yoo Hee. They exchange insurance information and Yoo Hee learns that he lied to her on their date, realizing that his name is different, he is 2 years older than her, and that he met her only as a favor to a friend.

Yoo Hee demands the money for the damage to her car to be paid within a week. However, Mu-Ryong doesn't have any money, and yet Yoo Hee is unwilling to compromise with him. He decides to use his school tuition, which was given to him by his parents, to pay for her car. However, he loses the money after being mugged on the way to pay her.

Mu-Ryong tells Yoo Hee he doesn't have the money but is willing to work it off, no matter how long it takes or what he must do for her to pay her back. Yoo Hee decides that Mu-Ryong could repay her by working as her house keeper, since she continuously looses her previous keepers.

Heart Evangelista already transfers and signed an exclusive contract with GMA-7 and is now a Kapuso, as reported by 24 oras. Heart is known as a longtime Kapamilya star and used to team up with John Pratts that made her her one of the country’s most popular young stars.

She is set to appear in an upcoming GMA-7 primetime series Asero, where she is paired to Richard Gutierrez together with Ehra Madrigal and Kylie Padilla.

Asero is an upcoming fantasy series to be filmed in Dubai and it stars Richard Gutierrez in the lead role. The series begins filming on May 5 and will soon air on GMA Telebabad

Survivor Philippines Audition : GMA-7 recently acquired the local franchise of the popular US reality television game show called "Survivor." GMA-7 Upcoming Shows April 2008 : GMA-7 announced their upcoming shows this April 2008 via teasers. Here is the list of TV shows worth waiting for this April.

1. Pinoy Idol - Hosted by: Raymond Gutierrez. Judges are Jolina Magdangal, Ogie Alcasid and Wyngard Tracy. Airing on Saturday April 12, 2008 after Pinoy Records.

2. Tasya Fantasya - Starring Yasmin Kurdi as Tasya Pantasya with Wendell Ramos, Rainier Castillo, Ella Guevarra, Sheena Halili, Gladys Reyes, Alicia Mayer, Mura, and Vangie Labanan.

The Legend is a South Korean TV series created by Kimjonghak Production. GMA-7 was able to obtain the copyright property of the said TV series and they are airing The Legend on GMA-7 right after Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita. The theme song of The Legend was I can go the Distance originally sung by Michael Bolton and revived by Ariel Rivera.

The story of The Legend is loosely based on the legend of Dangun and Gwanggaeto the Great of Goguryeo. The story also adds mythical elements of the Four Symbols depicted in fantasy form as the four guardians who serve the king of Jyushin. The addition of fantasy to a Korean historical drama makes this series unique and distinguishes itself from its predecessors in Korean television series.

Characters :
Damdeok : The prince of Goguryeo, and also the reincarnation of son of the God Hwanwung.
Hogae : The rival of Damdeok.
Hyeongo : The leader of the Geomul village and the master of Hyeonmu.
Kiha : The mistress of the Dark Phoenix.

Plot :
A long time ago, a tribe that respected the tiger and controlled fire called the Ho-jok (Tiger Tribe), ruled the world. They eliminated and assimilated all tribes except the tribe that respected the bear, called the Ung-jok (Bear Tribe). The Tiger Tribe and the Bear Tribe fought, and Hwanung could not bear to see so many people getting killed. He brought the three gods of nature; Baek-Ho (??, the White Tiger), Cheong-Ryong (??, the Blue Dragon), and Hyeon-Mu (??, the Black Turtle-Snake). He removed the power of fire from the leader of the Tiger Tribe, Gajin, sealed the power into an artifact called the Heart of Ju-Jak (??, the Red Phoenix), and gave it to the woman he loved; Se-o. However, Gajin was mortally wounded while attacking another tribe, and she seemed to die until Hwanung healed her. This thoroughly convinced Gajin to not make a grudge against Hwanung.

When her tribe were derived to take back the power of fire, they didn't listen to Gajin and decided to attack the Bear Tribe. Gajin then slays her tribe's council with her own blade, and escapes from her own tribe and headed towards the Bear Tribe, deciding to become Hwanung's woman. However, the god's son had Seoh in mind and declared his love for her. Unfortunately, Gajin was watching them secretly when this took place. Gajin was infuriated by this and began regaining the Tiger Tribe and attacked the Bear Tribe. Unfortunately, this was the time when Se-o was pregnant, and when she had given birth, the baby was kidnapped by Gajin and she offered Seo a deal for trading her baby and the power of fire.

When Se-o confronts Gajin, Gajin revenges by dropping Se-o's baby from a cliff, leading to Se-o going out of control and releasing the Heuk-Jujak (Dark Phoenix), even though Hwanung had saved the baby. (Note: Jujak is roughly the equivalent of Phoenix.) Hwanung's subordinates, the White Tiger, the Blue Dragon and the Black Turtle-Snake fought the Dark Phoenix, but were no match for it. Left with no choice, Hwanung used his Heavenly Bow to kill Se-o, the source of the power of the Dark Phoenix, and managed to seal it once again in the heart of Red Phoenix.

Kajin committed suicide because she "had no reason to live in this world any more" by falling from the cliff. Hwanung sealed the powers of the 'Four Gods' (The Red Phoenix, White Tiger, Blue Dragon, and the Black Turtle-Snake) in certain artifacts and left them in the cares of certain people, telling them that they will wake when the King of Jushin is born.

Many centuries later, the reincarnation of Hwanung, Damdeok, was born. Along with him, the artifacts of the guardians of the King were born. Damdeok met difficulties in becoming the king of Goguryeo, mainly because of Yeon Hogae who mistook Damdeok for the murderer of his mother, and his father who turned the king's parliament against him.

My Name is Kim Sam Soon or My Lovely Sam Soon is a South Korean drama series and soon will a Pinoy version to be aired on GMA-7. Asia’s Songbird Regine Velasquez was chosen to play the lead role. The leading man is not yet decided.

The story of Kim Sam Soon revolves around a 29 to 30 year old girl called Kim Sam-Soon, single and overweight, who is the third daughter of a rice mill owner. She doesn't have a college degree although she is a patissier with a Le Cordon Bleu certification.

Her main passion and skills are in baking, as she does not have much of a social life, dreams of changing her name (Sam-Soon is considered a very old-fashioned and embarrassing name) and owning a shop of her own. After her breakup with her boyfriend, she managed to land herself in a big French restaurant working as a patiesseur for a rude and angsty 27-year-old man called Hyun Jin-Heon. Both were in bad terms ever since they set eyes on each other. But one day, Sam-Soon finds herself in need of 50 million won (Korean currency, approximately $50,000) to pay for her mother's house.

She agrees to be Hyun Jin-Heon's girlfriend for that amount. During their pretend dating they slowly become more affectionate with each other. When things seem to go accordingly, Hyun Jin-Heon's ex-girlfriend, Yoo Hee-Jin, enters the scene and life for Sam-Soon starts getting much worse. Jin-heon then realizes that he is happier with Sam-Soon and can't stop thinking about her. He confesses his love to her after she tells him that she hates people who don't confess their feelings towards the person they like.

Hee-Jin asks Jin-Heon to accompany her on her return to the United States. Sam-Soon allows him to go, and he does not return within the promised duration. He soon arrives, and they find out that he has been sending postcards to the wrong address. Sam-Soon and Jin-Heon attempt to get pregnant, in order to convince Jin-Heon's mother into allowing their marriage. The plan fails, but they remain together.

Near the very end of the series, Sam-Soon reads a poem from a poster on a bus stop: "Dance like no one's watching. Sing like no one's listening. Work like you don't need the money. Love like you've never been hurt before. Live like there's no tomorrow."

Yasmin Kurdi is Tasya Pantasya. Tasya Pantasya is a fantasy comedy film by Carlo J. Caparas in 1994 starring Kris Aquino and Alvin Patrimonio. The film is going to be adapted by GMA 7 for television and it will star Yasmien Kurdi in the lead role. The teaser was already played in GMA but there is no tentative date yet on when it will be aired. Check out this blog for more updates soon.

Pinoy Idol on April 5, 2008 at GMA-7: Pinoy Idol will soon broadcasted or aired on GMA-7 Kapuso TV network on April 5, 2008, Saturday. Pinoy Idol is not the same as Philippine Idol, I guess. It will be hosted by Raymon Gutierrez. The judges are Jolina Magdangal, Ogie Alcasid and Wyngard Tracy. Can't wait to watch Pinoy Idol? Tune in to GMA-7 network around 8:00 PM this Saturday, April 5, right after Pinoy Records.

GMA Network promoted Pinoy Idol as "the first Idol competition in the Philippines" during its New Year's Eve 2007 Presentation, and therefore will not recognize Philippine Idol and its winner Mau Marcelo.

Pinoy Idol Prizes:
The winner will receive P1 million, brand new car, a recording contract with Sony BMG Music Philippines, a television contract with GMA Network among other prizes.

Auditions for Pinoy Idol was held in the following cities: Cagayan de Oro, Batangas City, Iloilo City, Cebu City, Davao City, Pasay, Dagupan, and Angeles.Auditions in Naga City were canceled for unknown reasons.[14] Out of thousands of aspirants, 179 passed through the next round of eliminations.

Pinoy Idol Controversy
Early into the development of Pinoy Idol, there is a growing petition in online forums requesting for Ignacio's exclusion as its program director primarily because of his frequent use of butterflies (whether live butterflies or having people wear butterfly wings) on every project he has directed. He commented that he would still stick to his "lucky trademark" and even taunted petitioners to direct the show and put beetles or mosquitoes on the set if that is what they want. Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes will once again team up for an upcoming GMA-7 TV series called Dyesebel. According to some sources, the filming of Dyesebel will begin on late April, or early June. Currently, Marian Rivera is having her swimming lessons. Joyce E. Bernal will once again the director, the same director of Marimar. Marian Rivera as Dyesebel. Rumors said that Rhian Ramos was the original choice to play as Dyesebel but it ended up with Marian Rivera. Dingdong Dantes as Fredo. It was also said that Dennis Trillo had the part of Fredo but turned out to be Dingdong Dantes.

Dyesebel is a popular mermaid character in the Philippines. The comic book character was originally conceived by the Filipino comic book illustrator, Mars Ravelo. Dyesebel is a prominent character in Philippine cinema and television.
